A tractor truck (also known as semi-trailer truck, tipper, tractor trailer, big rig, articulated truck or articulated lorry) is a kind of heavy duty truck consisting of a towing engine that carries the freight. (Afore-mentioned towing engine is called tractor unit in Ireland, truck in the UK, Tractor in US and Prime mover in Australia, which is also a heavy duty vehicle.)

Main components of Tractor Truck:
1. Tractor unit: it also called traction unit, road tractor or prime mover, is a kind of heavy duty vehicle. A tractor unit, a freight vehicle, is usually in the heavy goods vehicle class of vehicles.
2. Semi-trailer: trailer or semi, is normally equipped with legs so that it can be lowered with support when it is uncoupled. When a road tractor (tractor unit) is coupled to a semi-trailer, a tractor truck (semi-trailer truck) is formed.
